This module unit is intended to equip the trainee with knowledge, skills and attitudes to enable
him/her apply the necessary preventive, curative, rehabilitative and promotive health services to the
community. At the end of the unit, the learner should be able to:
recognize the role and importance of community health in social work
identify community health needs and explain how they can be dealt with
identify and refer specific health problems for appropriate action
identify the emerging issues in community health
