In the light of the training needs analysis, Carlile College worked to identify the role that school chaplains will be engaged in. It is important to think through the work a person will be doing if you are training the person to do that work. The following summary of duties may be used to develop a job description for school chaplains.

Purpose of Course: To provide a social, developmental and cultural framework within which stages of human development and the identity of young people can be considered

Purpose of the Course: To introduce worship within the context of Christian spirituality and to explore the nature of ministry in corporate worship in the school setting.

 


This unit aims to introduce an integrated approach to Old Testament studies which is centred on narrative and narrative themes. From this perspective historical, literary and theological issues will be considered with special reference to the literature relating to the period of the Pre-Exilic and the Exilic Prophets and how this part of the Bible’s teaching is relevant in our lives today.


Purpose of Course: To provide a social, developmental and cultural framework within which stages of human development and the identity of young people can be considered.


Purpose of Course: To enable students to understand the impact of HIV/AIDS in schools and local communities and to consider the response of young people and school communities. 

Course Objectives: For students to develop tools that will help them design wholistic and transformational discipleship programmes addressing the issue of HIV/AIDS in local churches and communities.


Purpose of Course: This unit aims to introduce an integrated approach to Old Testament studies which is centred on narrative and narrative themes.
